"The Ox Herding Pictures - A Unique Description of the Path" - Devin Wallace

The Ox Herding Pictures (dating back to the 11th Century) describe—with delightful drawings and verses—a Chan Buddhist’s training path to enlightenment—and on to the Bodhisattva Way. Many different versions were created over the years and spread far and wide as Chan and Zen Buddhism grew.

Tonight we’ll share one of those versions through animation, music, and voice. That will be followed by commentary on the pictures/verses and their significance, drawn from a number of Buddhist sources.

Update:
In-person attendance is now open to all individuals who are free from cold/flu/COVID symptoms, regardless of COVID vaccination status. Attendance on zoom will continue to be an option for the Sunday Program.
