A four week series - led by Laura Liss
Many groups and programs of WHS include periods of sitting meditation.
In an effort to help sitting practice become more approachable, this class will be offered in-person at the meditation center.
The series will explore meditation as one among several integral practices of spiritual Buddhist traditions and is designed for people who are curious about meditation, new to the sangha, and/or wanting a fresh start to their practice.
We will begin with some basics including balanced posture, anchors to present moment experience, and inquiry about what is noticed during practice. As we continue to focus on cultivating awareness - the quality of waking up to life - we will also look into establishing the motivation for practice and the Buddhist meditation aspirations of mental clarity, compassion, equanimity and freedom from attachment.
Laura has been teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction courses since 2017 and is a Certified MBSR Instructor.
