White Heron Sangha has no formal affiliation with any outside groups, lineages, or styles of Buddhism, or with any particular teacher. We are peer-led. Talks and introductory meditation instruction are often given by our members. We periodically invite teachers from various Buddhist traditions to lead weekend retreats. As part of the effort to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, our meditation center is temporarily closed. In the interim, all events including Sunday meetings, daily and mid-week sittings and classes are held online using the Zoom platform. The sangha provides services to the community including serving meals to the homeless at Prado 40 one Sunday a month and Karuna for our members. In order to serve communities in both North and South San Luis Obispo county, satellite sanghas provide events not shown on this website.
