About this event

Sacred Body, Sacred World
How to experience the natural sacredness of our lives and in so doing, free ourselves from suffering
with Rose Taylor Goldfield

This weekend we will connect with Vajrayana Buddhism’s profound teachings on sacred view. We will learn to recognize the sacredness of the various elements of our experience—our body, our world, the basic elements, dreaming, death, and even time itself. By exploring sacred view via teaching, discussion, meditations, simple somatic practices, and song, we will feel the powerful ways that realizing the sacredness of our world positively transforms our experience of daily life.

Rose is a returning teacher for the WHS Sunday Program.  She is continuing her Sunday teachings by providing this weekend retreat.

“When we are open, spacious, and relaxed, sacred view naturally appears.”
Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche

Rose Taylor Goldfield is a teacher in the Karma Kagyü lineage, with the blessing of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa and her teacher Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. She teaches Buddhist meditation, philosophy, yogic exercise and dance, and classical Tibetan language. She has written and translated books, articles, and numerous songs of realization, including Training the Wisdom Body: Buddhist Yogic Exercise and Khenpo Rinpoche’s Stars of Wisdom. She holds an MA in Indo-Tibetan Buddhist studies from Naropa University.

Rose grew up in a Buddhist household and having studied and practiced extensively in the Shambhala lineage, in 2002, Rose began training intensively under Khenpo Rinpoche’s close guidance. He appointed her teacher to his nuns in Bhutan and Nepal, where she taught Tibetan Buddhist philosophical texts, meditation, and Lujong. In 2007, Khenpo Rinpoche appointed her to a full-time position with Marpa Foundation, where she served as vice-president. For three years, Rose attended Khenpo Rinpoche daily while living with him in semi-retreat in Seattle. After this, she returned with Khenpo Rinpoche to Nepal where he settled for the rest of his life.

Rose now lives in San Francisco with her husband, Ari Goldfield, and their son, Oliver, and teaches under the auspices of Wisdom Sun, the practice and study community they established together in 2011.
