Dharma Dialogue: Discussion of Dawn Neal's teaching.

This Sunday our Program will be a follow-up of Dawn Neal's talk.

Dawn Neal's Recording

Below are the topics.

Questions for the dharma dialogues:

1. In Dawn's talk she spoke of "the five faculties that support freedom". When you hear this what comes to mind when you are asked "Freedom from what"?

2. Often when we hear the word "faith", we wonder what this has to do with the Buddhist teachings because it usually refers to a faith in something or someone and has implications associated with Christianity. In this case, faith refers to having confidence in our own experience. Please share an experience that has given you confidence in following this path of Buddhism? And if you are new to Buddhism, what is it that draws you to this path?

3. One of the faculties that Dawn spoke about was mindfulness and she described the mind as  being like a puppy. How would you describe your mind? What animal(s) would you liken it to? What techniques do you use to settle your mind?
