Summer Solstice Daylong Retreat - Courage and Energy

About this event

Summer Solstice Daylong Retreat: Courage and Energy

with Ali Hedayat and Devin Wallace
Saturday June 21, 9:30am - 4pm

Let's celebrate the arrival of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere!

As the days grow longer with more sunlight, we reflect on the COURAGE and ENERGY that supports our path—allowing us to shine more light through mindfulness from within and meet this precious human birth with clarity and skillful presence.

This retreat will explore the themes of Courage and Energy in our Dharma practice.

Due to family illness, Laura Liss will no longer be able to lead the discussion on joyful energy (virya) and radiance, or guide the breathwork and yoga practices.

Here is the revised morning schedule:

9:30- 10:00  Cecil Hale, Special guest from CAPSLO, Homeless Services Center and Housing Manager at Prado describes all of the services CAPSLO provides for the most needy population in SLO County, followed by Q/A.

10:00-10:30 Ali Hedayat - Meditation

10:30- 11:15 Welcoming Summer Solstice talk and reflections with the theme of Courage

Short Bio Break

11:25 -12:30 Short, silent Walking Meditation followed by instruction for small group exercises for self awareness in relatedness and large group discussion.

We will break for lunch around 12:30 for one hour.

After lunch, Devin will lead a QiGong practice and a talk on the Chinese Summer Solstice tradition. This will be followed by Ali's Meditation and Haiku session and closing with Q and A.

All are welcome! No prior experience is necessary.
